Frequently Ask Questions

Having insurance is great for catastrophic care, labs and imaging. Vaccines will be covered through a 3rd party vaccine provider.

You will be able to book up to an hour of time per day. Booking is based on 20 minute increments. That means you get more than triple the time with your doctor compared to the regular 15 minutes with nurse, nurse practitioners and/or doctor.

There is NO CoPay. Your Membership covers all visits with no additional charges. A typical doctor visit involves a co-pay, co-insurance (testing not covered by your insurance plan), and higher and higher deductibles to meet. An ER or urgent care visit is even more expensive. With your Membership there are no surprise bills and all in-office procedures are covered at 100%. For the average family this will often SAVE you money in the long run in addition to the personalized and easily accessible care.

Your Membership can be canceled at any time provided a 60-day written or email notice is given.

Members can use phone and video calls to conduct visits. In many cases, questions can be answered and diagnoses can be made (or ruled out) without an office visit, saving you time and effort. However, when medically indicated it will be necessary to see your child in the office.

Dr. Nesmith is the only health care provider at Lighthouse Pediatrics. Unless exceptional circumstances occur, he will be the one providing your care.

Your membership is not a substitute for insurance. We strongly recommend families have insurance coverage. Your are healthy until you are not! Hospital bills, medications, imaging and laboratory can be a burden.

Not at this time. We will determine if offering a one-time visitor rate is something we should offer at some time in the future. This is a member-centric model so that we can provide the highest and best care to our members first. We strongly encourage families to join as a member and reap the many benefits of ongoing personalized care.

All rapid diagnostic tests, including strep tests, flu tests, COVID-19 tests and urinalysis are included in your membership fees.

Yes! You will be invited to participate in education-based seminars presented by local doctors, psychologists, therapists, speech therapists, Occupational therapists, teachers, diagnosticians, physical therapists, college and career counselors, nurses, family therapists and more!

Lighthouse Pediatrics is here to enable you as a parent to fulfill these roles to the best of your ability. Our focus on mental health, preventative medicine, and successful parenting strategies, while at the same time keeping your child physically healthy, will allow your child to thrive. Education with trusted resources is key. We look forward to opening our doors and sharing with you people within our professional network so you can learn about the following:

A lighthouse symbolizes guidance, safety, and support, which are all important aspects of pediatric medicine. Just as a lighthouse illuminates the way for ships and helps keep them safe in rough waters, Lighthouse Pediatrics Clinic serves as a guiding light for children and families in their health journeys. In pediatric medicine, the focus is on providing care specifically tailored to the unique needs of children. Children’s bodies, minds, and emotional well-being are constantly developing, and it’s important for their medical care to take this into account. We are equipped to provide this specialized care, ensuring that children receive the best possible treatment for their health needs. In addition, a lighthouse is often seen as a symbol of hope, which is crucial in pediatric medicine. When a child is facing health challenges, it can be a difficult and frightening experience for both the child and their family. We can provide a supportive, reassuring environment where families can find comfort and hope, and children can receive the care they need to get better.
